The first synagogue in the Netherlands that was designed (1861-1862) by a Jewish architect, Leon Winkel. Neoclassical style, with a Ionic temple front. Inside the original Ark is still present. After the Second World War it had several uses, but then the building fell into decline. After restoration in 1974 it became part of the Municipal Music School. Since 1996 property of the Stichting Behoud Synagoge Delft. The names of the Delft Jewish victims of the Second World War are written on the inner wall. Services are held regulary again.
