South wing of former St Agatha’s Convent which was built in 16th century. Beautiful beamed ceiling with Gothic console beams.
In the 17th century it became the home of Princess Emilia of Nassau, daughter of William of Orange and married to Don Emmanuel of Portugal. Their daughters continued to live in the convent, which became known as The Court of the Princesses of Portugal. In the 19th century this wing became a military hospital.
After a restoration Museum Nusantara was located here until 2013. In 2014, it was renovated and reallocated as Prinsenkwartier, a centre for the creative industry.
